NASA Plans Capsule to Take Humans Into Deep Space
NASA plans a return to yesteryear by developing a space capsule that will carry humans into deep space, it announced Tuesday. “We are committed to human exploration beyond low-Earth orbit and look forward to developing the next generation of systems to take us there,” NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said.

Iran claims launch of turtles, rodent into space
Iran said Wednesday it had launched a rocket carrying a rodent, two turtles and some worms into orbit, claiming it as a successful advance in their space program.

NASA: Good night moon, hello new rocket technology
President Barack Obama is redirecting America's space program, killing NASA's $100 billion plans to return astronauts to the moon (of which $9.1 billion has already been spent on) and using much of that money for new rocket technology research. The Ares I and Ares V, and an Orion crew capsule projects have been cancelled.

NASA scrubs launch of Ares I-X rocket
NASA was unable to launch its unmanned test rocket Ares I-X Tuesday because of cloudy, windy weather, but will try again Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. ET, the space agency said.
